Two tips people should follow when ordering reception signage

Here are two tips people should follow when ordering signage for their commercial building's reception area.

They should be cautious about using illuminated signage in a reception space with a nearby waiting area

On premises where businesses stay open late into the night (such as a hotel), opting for reception signage that is either backlit or that has individually-lit letters is a great way to ensure that those who enter the premises can quickly see the reception area, even if it's dark out. Signage like this is also good for adding an inviting glow to a reception area. However, it's important for those who are interested in ordering illuminated reception signage to be cautious if the reception space is close to the premises' waiting area.

The reason for this is that if the illuminated signage in the reception space is too bright, not only might it strain the eyes of the receptionists who work at this desk, but the glare from it might be perceived as uncomfortably bright for those who have to see in the nearby waiting area. As such, anyone whose reception and waiting areas are near each other and who wants their reception signs to be illuminated should explain this concern to the signage company. The signage maker might, for example, suggest that they opt for a dimmable backlit sign so that they can make the sign less bright when needed.

They should consider getting more than one type of sign for the reception area if the premises is large

On small premises, having just one sign that indicates where the reception area is might be enough. However, if a person's premises and reception area are quite large, they should consider getting multiple signs for this area. For example, in addition to putting a large sign saying, ''reception'' on the wall behind the reception desk, which could be seen by those approaching the front of the desk, it might also be helpful to hang some signs from the ceiling in the areas on either side of the desk, which feature the words, 'reception' along with arrows pointing towards it.

These signs would allow those who may have entered the building from another entrance or who may have lost their way after already being inside the premises to easily find their way to the reception area. This would then cut down on how often people on the premises need to look for staff members or security guards to help them find the reception desk.
